Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Saral Pathshala's website and Android app, including our video lectures, mock tests, leaderboards, and course enrollment. Please read them before creating an account.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Saral Pathshala ("we", "us", "our") governing your use of exam.saralpathshala.com and our companion Android app (together, the "Service"), covering video lectures, MCQ mock tests, leaderboards, notices, and course enrollment for entrance exams such as IOE, CEE, B.Sc. CSIT, BCA, CMAT, B.A. LLB, and Loksewa. By registering an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Account & Eligibility
- You must provide accurate registration information: your real full name, a working email address, and a Nepali phone number that you control (it must receive an SMS OTP to be verified before you can log in).
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that happens under your account.
- One account is for one person. Sharing your login credentials with another student, or letting someone else use your account to attempt exams or watch lectures, is not allowed — our device-session limit (2 concurrent active sessions per student account) exists partly to discourage this, and repeated pattern of shared use may result in the extra devices being signed out or the account being reviewed.
- If you're a minor, we expect a parent or guardian to be aware of and comfortable with your use of the Service.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to access another student's account, exam attempt, or results without authorization.
- Use scripts, bots, browser automation, or direct API calls to submit exam answers on your behalf instead of taking the mock test through the actual interface. Our systems flag attempts that were never heartbeat-synced during the exam and completed implausibly fast for the number of questions answered — this pattern is treated as evidence of a scripted/automated submission.
- Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with reCAPTCHA checks, rate limits, or account/device controls.
- Scrape, mirror, download in bulk, or attempt to extract our question banks, mock test content, or video lectures outside the normal use of the Service.
- Attempt to circumvent the video-playback token system to obtain a direct, reusable link to lecture video content.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in a way that could damage, disable, or impair it for other students.
3. Exam Integrity
Our mock test scores and leaderboards are only useful to you if they reflect genuine performance, so we take integrity seriously:
- While you're taking a timed mock test, the Service monitors client-side signals such as tab-switching, loss of window focus, and blocked keyboard shortcuts, and counts these as "violations" on that attempt.
- An attempt whose answers were never synced back to our server during the exam, combined with a completion time too fast to be plausible for the number of questions answered, is automatically flagged for review.
- An attempt that accumulates enough violations, or is auto-flagged as above, is marked internally as flagged for our staff's review.
- For confirmed cheating or manipulation, we reserve the right to void the attempt, withhold or adjust the score, exclude it from leaderboards, or restrict the account's ability to attempt further exams. Our staff may also apply manual leaderboard corrections in select cases (for example, incorporating results from a physical/offline sitting of the same exam).
- Flagging is based on behavioral/technical signals, not proof beyond doubt — if you believe your attempt was flagged in error, contact us and we'll review it.
4. Content & Intellectual Property
All video lectures, mock test questions, notes, and other study material made available through the Service are owned by Saral Pathshala or licensed to us, and are provided to you for your personal, non-commercial study use only. You may not download, record, redistribute, re-upload, resell, or publicly share this content.
Because of this, lecture videos are never handed to your browser or app as a plain, reusable link. Playback is granted through a short-lived, single-use access token issued specifically to your account for that lecture, and the app applies screen-recording/screenshot protection during playback and exams where the device supports it. Attempting to defeat these protections (e.g. screen-recording lectures for redistribution) is a violation of these Terms and may result in account termination.
5. Enrollment & Fees
Some courses on Saral Pathshala require enrollment. Submitting an enrollment request (through the website or app) creates a request that our staff review and follow up on directly by phone, email, or in person — enrollment is not completed instantly through an automated online payment gateway. Course fees, payment method, and confirmation of enrollment are arranged directly with our team; where a fee applies, you will be informed of the amount and payment process when our staff contacts you. We do not store any card or bank payment details on the platform, since payments are not processed through the website or app itself.
6. Service Availability
We aim to keep Saral Pathshala available and reliable, especially during live/timed mock tests, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances outside our control (e.g. internet/network issues, hosting provider outages). If a scheduled live exam is disrupted by a technical failure on our end, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule or otherwise make it right, but we're not liable for losses arising from downtime.
7. Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms — including confirmed account sharing, scripted/automated exam submissions, attempts to bypass content protection, or abuse of the platform (e.g. spamming OTP requests or enrollment forms). You may stop using the Service at any time; to request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us using the details below.
8. Limitation of Liability
Saral Pathshala is a study aid, not a guarantee of any exam outcome. Mock test scores, leaderboard rankings, and analytics are meant to help you gauge and improve your preparation; they are not an official prediction of your result in IOE, CEE, TU, or any other entrance/board examination administered by a third party. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including reliance on mock test performance when preparing for a real examination.
9. Governing Law
Saral Pathshala is built for Nepal's entrance exam community and operates from Kathmandu, Nepal. These Terms are governed by the laws of Nepal, and any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Nepal.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms as the Service evolves (for example, if we introduce a payment gateway for enrollment in the future). We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we make material changes. Continuing to use Saral Pathshala after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
